PLAY:stl Music Festival & Conference Returns for Fourth Spectacular Year!
altWebster University presents the fourth annual PLAY:stl Music Festival and Conference September 16–18, 2010, once again centered on St. Louis’s Delmar Loop. As in the past three years, the 2010 fest will feature 100 acts on seven-plus live music stages over three days. Participating venues include Blueberry Hill Duck Room, Cicero’s, Market Pub House, Riddles Penultimate, Brandt's, Regional Arts Commission, Vintage Vinyl, Chipotle and the Moonrise Hotel, all within walking distance of each other.

Saturday’s conference portion is geared toward providing musicians with education and networking opportunities. Panels feature industry professionals discussing such topics as booking and touring, press and publicity, social networking, sound engineering and the business of music. Admission to the conference is free.
Admission to festival showcases will be via three-day wristband ($20) or single-admission ticket ($10). Wristbands are available for purchase online at www.playstl.com and in-store at Vintage Vinyl, Guitar Center (St. Louis metropolitan area locations), Euclid Records and Cicero’s.
The objectives of the PLAY:stl Music Festival and Conference are twofold: (1) Increase awareness of the St. Louis area as a musical hub, rich with talented musicians and music-loving fans, and (2) Provide festival performers and attendees with a broader audience as well as educational and networking opportunities to increase their career success.
The response to the three PLAY:stl festivals has been overwhelmingly positive, as music fans, musicians and businesses showed their support and enjoyment of the festival. An average of 4,000 people attended each year, and that number is growing exponentially with each successive year. Presenting the PLAY:stl Music Festival and Conference is BIGFATCAT, a St. Louis-based management/promotions corporation focused on promoting and advancing artists’ careers. BFC also runs PLAYBACK:stl, the St. Louis-based music and entertainment magazine founded in 2002. More than just a collection of words, PLAYBACK:stl has long been involved in booking shows and hosting events, drawing attention to the local music community and independent artists for many years.
2010 sponsors include Webster University, Sam Adams Beer, Guitar Center, Chipotle, Listen Records, The Moonrise Hotel, RedGorilla, Yelp, in-dio.fm, KWMU 90.7 FM, WLCA 89.9 FM, KDHX 88.1 and more.
